Our Team

Client-Centered Counseling

We believe people are complex beings made up of body, soul, and spirit. For many, spiritual beliefs and faith are deeply connected to identity, healing, and personal growth. At Fortitude, spiritual integration is available for clients who desire it, while never being required.

Although the Christian faith is central to each of our counselors, we recognize that not all clients share the same beliefs or any religious background at all. Our counselors are trained to thoughtfully integrate faith into counseling when requested, and equally prepared to partner with individuals seeking growth apart from any specific faith practice or denomination. Every client is met with respect, professionalism, and care.

Lindsey Weatherl

MA, LPC-Associate & Founder

Under the Supervision of Dr. Laura Pace, Ph.D, LPC-S

Lindsey grew up in Carrollton, Texas and attended college at Texas Tech University, where she received a degree in Advertising. While working for a marketing agency in the Dallas area, Lindsey quickly realized that she cared more about the hearts of her “target audience” than she did about the products she was being paid to promote. In 2012, Lindsey moved to Massachusetts, where she began studying the science, theories, and processes behind counseling while also studying theology and how to integrate the two areas. Lindsey received her Masters in Counseling from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in 2016. After graduation, Lindsey moved to Midland, TX and worked as a LPC Associate at a local counseling agency and, eventually, joined the counseling team at her church.

In October of 2025, Lindsey decided to pursue the dream of opening Fortitude Midland. Lindsey hopes that Fortitude will become a trusted place to those looking for Christian therapists who also have solid clinical counseling training.

Lindsey has a wide variety of experience working with teens, individuals and couples. She has worked with clients in areas such as life skill development; depression, anxiety, insecurities, relational stress and discord; stress management, identity development; and grief.

Although Lindsey enjoys working with all her clients, she especially enjoys working with couples. Lindsey is a certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator, has completed Gottman Method Couples Therapy training (level 1), and is currently working on her Sex Informed Therapist certification. Lindsey has worked with couples during communication struggles, marital discord, harmful sexual cycles, and affair recovery.

Lindsey currently lives in Midland, Texas with her husband, three children, and her two dogs – one a goldendoodle, which she named after Dolly Parton, and a tiny French bulldog named Nugget. Lindsey grew up playing a variety of sports and has always enjoyed staying active. When she’s not hanging out with her friends or family, Lindsey can be found listening to ‘90s country music, poorly playing her favorite songs on the guitar, doing laundry while listening to a podcast, reading a book, writing, or serving at her local church.

Lauren began working at Star of Hope Mission where she counseled women and children who were experiencing homelessness. There, she received biblical counseling training and became curious and passionate about the intersection of faith and psychology. She gained experience at Star of Hope for 5 years, before having her first child and moving to Midland, TX.

A few years after moving to Midland, Lauren joined one of the pastors at her local church in starting the counseling ministry there, and enjoyed that endeavor for 7 years. Now, she is excited to join Lindsey at Fortitude Midland.
